AKA Rittenhouse Square was a wonderful place to stay. The location is excellent; the rooms were clean, comfortable and quiet, and the staff was very attentive.

Great location; surrounded by plenty of shopping and dining choices. Modern, appealing decor. Helpful, friendly staff.

Studio bathroom a bit small and lacking bottle of body lotion.

    Fabulous

The location was great, and the staff was very helpful.

Our room was not ready until almost 4:30. The hotel was adding a restaurant. The noise in that area and in the lobby was terrible. Also, due to construction, we had a false alarm fire early in the morning. We were on the 12th floor and had to descend using only the stairs. Due to these facts, we were compensated a free night. Since these set-backs are only temporary, I would still recommend the hotel.

    Superb

I loved having my own kitchen, especially so close to an excellent deli (DiBruno's) where you could select full takeaway meals. I liked the quiet room and the tv selection. I loved the generous space, and the kitchen equipment. The staff were really nice and helpful. The cost of the power-cut night was quite fairly refunded. The location is great; you can walk on the streets at all hours because there are always people around.

The place is new and having teething troubles. There was a power cut while I was there caused by work on the new cafe, and I had to walk up to the tenth floor (somebody carried my bags up). They had given me a flashlight and water bottles, but the emergency instructions should have told me which windows I could open for some air. I missed having a frying pan to cook my eggs in. I thought the policies on supply of toilet paper and dishwashing liquid were stingy.

    Superb

Beautiful suite, excellent location, superb staff (Joe has an amazing memory for names). Can't wish for anything better. Only thing to be aware of: this a very central part of town. So if one is sensitive to sounds from the street, pick a studio or suite higher up. Espresso available for free on 2nd floor , small gym in-house, and access to Philadelphia sports club on Market St and 18th.

If anything, it could be that on lower floors, one will hear the streets. I think it's an old apartment complex, so relative to a hotel there are few elevators (one to be exact).

    Fabulous

The location is incredible and the hotel accomodated our needs well. They were also friendly and warm. We did not take advantage of the kitchen which would have been a great asset had our stay been longer. The room we stayed in had exactly the view we were seeking.

The walls were painfully thin. The bed was comfortable, but not spectacular. The room had a generic quality to it that ultimately didn't matter in the context of the hotel's great location and the friendliness of staff. The computer posed a few minor problems as well.

Stellar hotel and concept that leaves out all the things you don't need or want -- like a crappy hotel restaurant and bar -- to focus on the things you do: great, comfortable spaces and design. The staff is fun and informed and very helpful. I wouldn't stay anywhere else in Philly now that I know about the AKA.

The cab driver (and many others in the city) don't know about it. I got dropped off the the Rittenhouse Square hotel juts across the square. No biggie, just make rue you're at the right place.

I found my studio to be well appointed and comfortable. The location is excellent and the hotel staff are friendly and helpful.

There was a lot of street noise (people partying) up until about 2:30am and I wonder if somehow there could have been better sound insulation. A minor point is that there was no dish drainer.

    Superb

We felt home. Having only one cleaning during the week made us feel at home. The small kitchen and polished stone counter was amazingly useful for all sorts of uses. Although we were in the middle of the city action, when returning to our suite we felt like it was a calm place.

The aka Ritten House is convienant to all the best of Philadelphia. The studio accommodations with the king size bed and a kitchen were perfect for our needs . The staff were excellent from the moment we arrived to the moment we actually got into our car as they helped us get our luggage across the street. They were very helpful and always found answer to our questions as we were new to the city. The accommodations were very clean and well appointed. We had a great time, hats off to the staff of the Ritten House!
